Principal Security Consultant

The Role:

Principal Security Consultants (PSC) are expected to act as Technical Leaders both within and outside of the company. Within the company, PSCs should contribute to NCC Group tools and research. Externally, their work should be made available via presentations at top-tier security conferences and through whitepapers and technical publications. Customers should specifically come to NCC Groupfor the work and skills of people at the PSC level and above. Principal Security Consultants remain key contributors to project delivery at NCC Group. PSCs will focus primarily on projects that are technically complex, require senior resources because of unique scoping, or that are ideally suited for mentoring junior employees.

PSCs are relied upon to make a difference within NCC Group and in our industry and are given five (5) weeks of dedicated research and management time for a PSC Project. This time is not necessarily directed. The PSC is expected to create a PSC project plan, define expected results, block time on the schedule and ultimately present results to NCC Group colleagues. PSCs have a target of 40 billable days delivered per quarter, though this may vary.

Activities and Responsibilities (include):

  • Demonstrate mastery of six (6) areas of Technical Competency
  • Mentor consultants in areas of expertise
  • Lead large and complex engagements
  • Perform final review on deliverables
  • Advance the state of security in their areas of expertise
  • Significant and meaningful contributions in the areas of research, account management, or other organizational capability contributions
  • Deliver consultancy to highest level in practice area

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in management and delivering technical results or solutions
  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience required
